Laridian

Laridian is a form of the Greek word biblaridion meaing "little book." Laridian is a company that was started by Craig Rairdin, Jeff Wheeler, Jim Anderson and myself in the fall of 1998. We produce software for handheld computers, specifically Windows CE, PocketPC and Palm devices. The main focus of our software is Bibles for these handheld computers. Our flagship programs are PocketBible for the PocketPC and MyBible for the Palm. We also do devotionals and etracts designed to help you share your Christianity. If you don't have a handheld device you need one. If you do and you don't have our software, you need it.

In October of 2002 Jim left his position at Cedar Valley Bible Church and went full time with Laridian as Publisher.

Cedar Rapids

In November/December of 1985 we moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We've have grown to really like living here. This is a picture that I took while flying with Craig Rairdin. Cedar Rapids is one of two cities with its municipal cities on an island. The other is Paris, France.

Cedar Valley Bible Church

In May of 1997 the VanDuzers began to attend Cedar Valley Bible Church. It has really made a difference in Jim and Kathy's life. The Lord has worked through the teaching and fellowship to strengthen us both in our walk with Him. If you are in the Cedar Rapids area and are looking either for a new church home or for a church to visit we invite you to visit CVBC!

In January of 1999, Jim left Parsons Technology (a division of Broderbund (a division of The Learning Compay (soon to be a division of Mattel))) to take a position as youth director at Cedar Valley Bible Church.

VanDuzer Genealogy Page

Jim likes to try to keep track of the family geneology. If you have information pertaining to any of the people in the faimly tree that you feel should be recorded, please send it along to Jim. If you have information (or corrections) that should be included in the faily tree that isn't please send that along too.

Cedar Rapids Kernals

Cedar Rapids has a baseball team. It's a Single A team, but you can't beat the seats for the price (right behind home plate, or along the first base line, or wherever you can find a seat that you like, for $4). It really is a different way to watch baseball and provides for a very nice relaxing evening or afternoon at the ballpark.

American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO)

Jim is a referee for girls Division 6, Kathy coaches girls Division 7 and Jessica is on her team. Bobby and Stephen are not yet old enough to play, but they like to think that they can anyway.

Information on STEP

In 1995 while Jim was still at Loizeaux a coalition of print and software publishers joined together to create a standard for electronic books. That standard became STEP. This link is to the Bible Software Industry Standards Group's home page. You will find information about how to publish in STEP, who is publishing in STEP and what is being published in STEP.
